Adding someone

Friends are added by a six-character code, not from your contacts. Tap Friends + on the home screen. Your own code is on that screen — share it, or type in the one somebody sent you. ImUp never reads your address book and has no way to find people near you.

Nobody can see that I'm up

Going up lasts only as long as you set. Once the time runs out you disappear from everyone's shelf until you go up again. If a friend still can't see you, check you're both on the latest version — and that they're actually on your shelf, since being up is only visible to people you've added.

I'm not getting notifications

ImUp asks for notification permission the first time you mark yourself up, rather than at launch. If you declined, turn it back on in iOS Settings → ImUp → Notifications. Knocks arrive as Live Activities, which are a separate switch: iOS Settings → ImUp → Live Activities. Your profile inside the app shows whether each is on.

Someone is bothering me

Hold their name on the home screen and a bin appears. Tap it and choose Remove and block. They come off your shelf, your code stops working for them so they cannot add themselves back, and they are not told. It is also reported to us, and we review accounts that several unconnected people have blocked.

Blocked people are listed at the bottom of your profile, and you can unblock anyone there at any time.

Deleting your account

Open your profile and choose Start over on this phone. It asks once to confirm, then erases the account and everything attached to it — your code, your friends, your name and everything you've sent. There is no credential to sign back in with, so this cannot be undone.

Privacy

ImUp has no email, no password and no analytics. What it stores and why is set out in the privacy policy.
